1. Training Follow Up
What did you think of our PTA Leadership Training days? Please take a minute to send your feedback. All files are posted at LouisianaPTA.org/training. We will have ALL of the programs and fundraising ideas shared during the discussions added this week! If you still feel lost, do two things:
Scan through the entire LAPTA website clicking on every page under every menu item; then go back to the pages that you need now.

2. Who Wants Free Money?
National PTA has a big problem -- Who will get their $1,200,000 of grant funding this year? Can you help them out? It’s easier than you think to make a difference in your school community. See LouisianaPTA.org/programs for ideas on how to use the funds. Applications open August 20 and close on September 24. The PTA must be fully affiliated with Louisiana PTA to qualify. PLEASE take a few minutes to capitalize on this easy opportunity!

3. Givebacks Zooms
Attend a live webinar to learn all about Givebacks! Valerie Licata, our GB Senior Customer Success Manager, will host the Zoom meetings. To attend, you need to pre-register for each meeting, linked below. LAPTA is working on scheduling other training webinars now. The Zoom registration links will also be posted at LouisianaPTA.org and LouisianaPTA.org/training.

4. Live LAPTA Training Webinars
We are updating the complete list of live webinars for LAPTA training at LouisianaPTA.org/training. Currently, the schedule is as follows with meeting links posted on the training and home pages. Each course will be recorded and posted on the training page, too.
Presidents & VPs: Sep 10 at noon, Sep 11 at 6:30pm
Treasurer: Sep 17 at noon, Sep 25 at 6:30pm
Secretary: Sep 16 at noon, Sep 23 at 6:30pm
Affiliation: Sep 22 at noon, Sep 24 at 6:30pm

5. Just for Southern Louisiana
We started a BAND App group for southern LA called LAPTA South. Please join the group and help support each other. You can upload files on there, too! Don't be shy!
Please consider supporting your students in the Homeless Education Department.
6. Just for Northern Louisiana
What I forgot in our meeting:
1) We need three people to join the Minutes Committee to review and approve the minutes from the Annual Meeting. Say yes and email Beth! No, I don't have anyone yet, so I need you. Just reply to this email. It'll take 10 minutes max!
2) See the financial report below from the annual meeting. (The LAPTA budget is approved at a Board Meeting rather than at a General Membership Meeting like the local PTAs do, FYI.)
We started a BAND App group for Caddo PTA Leaders called LAPTA North. Please join the group and help support each other. You can upload files on there, too! Don't be shy!
LAPTA is going to get the definitive guidance on Local Level from the Caddo Parish School Board. We'll send that info out as soon as we get it. Email the Caddo contact if you know whom I should ask.
Please consider supporting your students in the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Dept. Attend their event on September 11 at 10:00am until noon. RSVP here. See the flyer for more details.
7. Review of LAPTA Annual Meeting
View the agenda, 2024 financial report, approved 2025 budget, updated LAPTA Board Bylaws, and the minutes from the Annual Meeting. The next annual LAPTA General Membership Meeting will be in Mandeville at training on August 15, 2026.
8. What's Your Membership Link?
If you offer online membership purchasing, email your link to LAPTA so that we can add it to LouisianaPTA.org/join.

I'm emphasizing again how easy and worthwhile it is to apply for a grant from National PTA. Application window opens August 20 and closes September 24.
